CONGRATULATIONS are in order for one of our loyal clients, Julia Sheridan!
The Jefferson Awards, for anyone not familiar, are “a prestigious national recognition system honoring community and public service in America. The Jefferson Awards are presented on two levels: national and local. They began in 1972 to create a Nobel Prize for public service. Today, their primary purpose is to serve as a “Call to Action for Volunteers” in local communities.”
Julia’s work as an advocate on behalf of women veterans (she is a veteran herself), has earned her one of 5 state-wide awards, beating out over 200 other nominees. Read more about her lifetime of service here. Then, vote for her to represent our state at the National Jefferson Awards in Washington D.C in June. Voting is open to all Washington State residents from March 18-25th on King5.com or by calling 866-257-5533. Also, stories about the 2013 Washington State Jefferson Award winners will be featured on Evening Magazine on KING5 at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, March 18th and available for streaming online after the show.
Thanks to Julia and to all of this year’s winners for helping improve our communities through their dedication and service!
