The Elliott Bay view from this Alki home is breath taking and the homeowners wanted to recreate their master bath to reflect this beach scene. Originally the bathroom had only one sink in a very outdated vanity and countertop. Besides their desire for a "seascape feel" they wanted their home to look modern and sophisticated. As we wanted to keep the project in budget we elected to focus on the vanity and only do minor touch-up in the rest of the bathroom. Absolute black granite was chosen for the back splash, in keeping with granite used throughout the rest of the house. We also chose to use high-end contemporary wall sconces and ambiance under-counter lighting chosen to create a beautiful glow through the slumped glass countertop and for its ability to be easily changed by the homeowner. The integrated glass sinks and sandblasted countertops feel like a piece of fine art. The sleek faucets, with single levers, augment the sculptural feel of the countertop. Sandblasting the seascape into the bottom of the countertop added that final touch the homeowners were looking for.
This beautiful vanity was created with the use of materials unique and sophisticated. Sandblasted slumped glass, Absolute black granite, and birds-eye maple are a visual feast.
