Position Information

We are currently seeking folks who strive for excellence in quality and communication to join our team. If you have proven skills for a High Level Craftsman, then that could be you!

Position Description:

  • Perform all phases of carpentry work on high-end residential remodels
  • Direct & manage all sub-contractors & vendors on the job.
  • Run weekly client meetings
  • Manage the overall job schedule and budget for the job
  • Responsible for job site safety
  • Help mentor & train junior staff

  • 5+ recent years of hands on carpentry experience in residential remodeling
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent people & communication skills
  • Team player attitude
  • Ability to multi-task

 

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, & Project
  • Knowledge of the proper sequence of work in remodeling project
  • Basic knowledge of all trades working on jobsites, i.e. drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring, roofing, etc.

Gaspar’s Construction has been a Residential Remodeler in the Seattle area for the past 40+ years and we are currently growing our Service division. We are a fun-loving team that is looking for an individual with the unique ability to perform a broad range of light remodeling tasks, confidently, without supervision, whilst maintaining Gaspar’s quality and customer service standards. The ideal candidate would be a ‘handyman’ in the traditional sense of the word but consider themselves a professional in the field with the knowledge and experience to back that up.

Job Description

Responsible for estimating small projects (<$30k), performing rough & finish carpentry, drywall, painting, rot/leak detection & repair, light electrical, light plumbing, window & door installation, light tiling to name but a few, as well as supervising sub contractors and providing excellent communication and understanding with customers.

A resume or work history is required.

Requirements

  • A strong and thorough understanding of the industry and home systems.
  • MUST have at least 5 years experience in residential remodeling and 10 years in the trades.
  • Experience in estimating projects $30k and under.
  • Must be able to run multiple jobs at one time.
  • Ability to instruct others.
  • Craftsman carpentry skills to perform work in high end homes.
  • An ability to work independently and make decisions.
  • A valid license and a clean driving record.
  • Must have the necessary power and hand tools to perform basic home maintenance.
  • Able to pass drug and background check.
  • Basic administrative, computer and arithmetic skills to accurately prepare invoices and track paperwork.
  • Strength, balance, and agility sufficient to work at gutter-level heights, dig postholes, and move around in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions when confronted by unique problems.
  • A lively, fun, outgoing demeanor with salesmanship skills
  • Must live within 15 miles of Seattle
