Capitol Hill Main Floor Remodel

The homeowners fell in love with the light filled, original charm of their 1923 home but the kitchen was tiny and falling apart. There was very little countertop space for prepping food and the storage was not great. The refrigerator sat in the middle of the kitchen and there was no powder room on the main floor.

We got to work figuring out a better layout. The decision was to relocate both the back door and the basement stairs to create a larger footprint for the kitchen and better access to the basement. This flow made better sense for the homeowners in their daily life and when entertaining.
