As in many condos, moving walls and working around the existing plumbing structures were key challenges. To account for these requirements, our team created several site-specific solutions. A hidden cavity was built into the cabinets to allow existing drainage to be unimpacted, and the plumbing vent was relocated, as bumping out the concrete wall was not a workable option. This need was brought to light during demolition, and our team was able to create a beautiful solution. The existing soffits and sprinklers could not be moved, so extensions were added to be cohesive with the new layout and look more intentional. The custom cabinetry for the new double vanity both opens the space to the beautiful view and offers more counter and storage space.
We increased the size of the shower while minimizing its visual weight (without moving the walls or drain) by extending into the room and adding a half wall of glass to the partition. The luxurious steam shower is complete with a defogging shaving mirror. Storage was also a consideration in the shower space, where our team left space under the shower bench to allow for deep storage in the adjacent closet. Special attention was also taken to ensure our clients could age in place confidently, offering chic grab rails in the shower and next to the toilet. The result is a spacious, stately primary suite that takes advantage of every inch of storage space, in the most elegant way possible.
